Eligibility for Membership
21. (1) A person is eligible to join the party, but not necessarily to join a branch of the party, if he or she is indigenous to the island of Great Britain and is an Australian citizen between the ages of sixteen years and eighteen years or is on the Commonwealth of Australia electoral roll.
(2) A person is eligible to join the branch of the party for the State or Territory in which he or she resides if he or she is a member of the party, except as otherwise provided in this rule.
(3) A person is not eligible to join the branch of the party for a State or Territory in the circumstances set out in Part 6 of this constitution.
(4) A person is eligible to join the youth wing of the party if he or she is a member of the party and is under the age of thirty years.
(5) An honorary life member of the party is automatically a member of every branch of the party, other than branches which he or she is ineligible to join due to circumstances set out in Part 6 of this constitution.
(6) A person is eligible to be member of a branch if he or she is a member of the party, and the management committee of that branch resolves that he or she should be a member of that branch, and he or she is not precluded from being a member of that branch by Part 6 of this constitution.
