Queensland Branch
52. (1) A member of the party is not eligible to become or remain a member of the Queensland branch of the party unless:
- he or she is on the electoral roll in Queensland; and
- he or she does not have a conviction for a crime in relation to elections to public office in Australia, in relation to a referendum in Australia, or in relation to improperly enrolling people on the electoral roll of an Australian State or Territory, for which he or she has been sentenced to imprisonment.
(2) A member of the Queensland branch of the party ceases to be a member of the Queensland branch if he or she is sentenced to imprisonment for a crime as mentioned in this rule, but becomes a member of the Queensland branch again if the conviction is overturned on appeal or if the sentence is reduced on appeal so as not to involve a prison sentence.
